Short Bio
I am a singer/songfighter focusing on songs about being haunted. Ghosts and monsters, angels and demons, empty places and empty people.
In early 2010 I had an actual moment of clarity.
I was playing at a songwriter showcase and started chatting with another s/sw. It turned out that we were describing ourselves almost exactly the same. Midwestern aesthetic, wide open spaces, travel stories, character studies. Musically we didn’t sound a thing alike but the descriptions were true.
While mulling it over, it occurred to me that although I have been a fan of scifi/fantasy/horror stuff almost all my life, I had never written any music in those generas. I was about to begin recording my second album, Ghosts Don’t Disappear, and I quickly switched a couple songs to create a more overt theme.
My third album, The Exploration of Dangerous Places, is a collection of haunted songs (mostly) about supernatural danger.
My fourth album, Nobody Gets The Girl: songs for the novel by James Maxey, is a sort-of soundtrack for a very cool super hero book. It is a bit different from the others in a few ways. It is an on-line exclusive, stripped down guitar & voice only, and it is tied to another persons work. If you think a super hero novel about a living ghost sounds cool, look for it on Amazon.
My fifth album, The Age Of Steam: Strange Machines, is supernatural steampunk. Set between 1880-1920, these stories of gears and ghosts represent my first steps into a world that I will be revisiting. When I put on an album and the title begins The Age Of Steam: you'll know that it's a continuation of where this album begins.
